Organizations often change because of new structures, systems or processes. Moreover, people within the org constantly change and adapt too. By understanding their personal transition phase and how people react to change you will be able to apply the correct leadership or coaching style in order to make a smooth transition from resistance to acceptance. Have you invested a huge amount of time and money in defining new processes, systems or trainings? Why people in your team respond to a situation or a change differently as you've expected? Why can't you immediately see the business improvements? The Kübler-Ross Change Curve is a popular and powerful psychological model used to understand how people adjust to change and describes the stages people go through and helps you predict their reactions. Change in my experience is one of those areas that seems simple in theory but tough in practice. I'll discuss some concrete examples from the teams I’ve managed to show the importance of the Change Curve in business. I hope that as someone needing to make changes within your organization or your teams you will be able to make this journey easier and ensure that they have the help and support they need.
